BLOWOUT - USA Peavey Millennium STD w Case (C.A.R.!)

Sign in to disble this ad
None of my other basses are selling, so let's try another. I have to sell something... Here is my Peavey USA made Millennium Std. It's pretty much mint. Don't think she even has a ding on her. Comes with a original factory hardshell case. Jazz neck, low action, plays great. How about just $365 ?!?!?!? This shouldn't last long at that price! A practically new USA made bass with case for under 4 clams!

Update: confirmed that the case is the factory original case (was not sure at first).

This is the first Millennium STD I have seen that didn't have a sunburst finish. I'd love to have this...but have no money!

Free bump though!

You are correct sir. Most made were burst, followed by black and finally, the most rare color, Candy Apple Red like we have here. This one is in exceptional condition.

Update: confirmed that the case is the factory original case (was not sure at first). I'm going to have to toss this one Ebay if somebody does not grab her this eve or maybe tomorrow.

Not sure why such adoration on this Millennium? It honestly looks like a import BXP, not any american made one I've seen. The bridge looks like a cheapie, the all black tuners look odd (the black Hipshots are black and silver, aren't they?), the weird pickup config, are you sure this is a real Millennium US? Not knocking your bass, but it just looks almost like an imitation one? When on earth did Peavey put a sticker on the headstock with Made in the USA? Really?

If that is a real US, that's one of the rarest, strangest beasts I've seen yet!

That qualifies as Rare!

It is indeed a real U.S. Peavey. I actually played one when they were new several years ago. I also have an old Peavey catalog where they talk about it being the lowest priced U.S. instrument at the time.

I remember all that, I probably have that catalog too, I just didn't realize they used the all different hardware. Even the neck and inlay dots are different. How cheap were they compared to a "normal" Millennium? Anyone remember.

When I played one, it didn't feel cheap to me. The neck felt similar but didn't feel exactly the same, but I guess that is because it is a 34" neck and not a 35". It sounded nice from what I remember, and I actually do want to get one someday.

Synterx, I assure you that she's a legit US Peavey. You can even check the US Millennium threads right here on TB and find numerous other pictures and references to this exact model.

And I also assure you that the tuners and bridge are far from cheap. As a matter of fact, the bridge is a hell of a lot better than the ones that used to come on US P and J basses until 2008. The tuners are very heavy duty, turn smooth and hold tune well.

Sure they are not the pricy Hipshot tuners and bridge that come on the Plus version, but tell me how many other basses come stock with high-end Hipshot hardware? VERY FEW!

The craftmanship on this bass is as good as any US factory produced bass I've owned. Tight neck pocket, extremely level frets, even/beautiful routes, etc. It's NOT a cheapo import. The Millennium were built in the same shop as the Cirrus.

Sure the Plus version has some higher-end pieces of hardware, but the hardware on this rivals most other US instruments and the build quality is second to none!

By the way, I believe that the price of this new was somewhere between $750 - $950ish (can somebody confirm)? This one is truly in new condition (with the exception of a little dust). Plays and sounds GREAT, NO BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EDIT: Found the link. These were $900 new ---> http://namm.harmony-central.com/SNAM...nnium-STD.html

New at Summer NAMM is Peavey Electronics' new Millennium STD bass. The Millennium STD is Peavey's least expensive bass made in the U.S.A..

The Millennium STD is a no-frills approach to the Millennium series' playability and sound, made for bassists who want to lay down a solid bottom end without laying out a huge wad of cash. This bass keeps things simple so you can concentrate on keeping the groove and having a good time.

Features on the Millennium STD include a solid alder body, pau ferro fretboard, hard rock maple neck, satin black hardware and double expansion truss rod, plus a JB pickup configuration.

The Millennium STD is available in black, sunburst, candy apple red, topaz blue and custom shop colors. The Millennium STD has a U.S. MSRP of $899.99 and will be available at Authorized Peavey Dealers in September 2002.

Features:

Maple neck with 8" radius
Pau ferro fingerboard with maple position markers
GraphTech Tusq top nut
1.575" neck width at top nut
35" scale length, 21 frets (mine is a 34" as some were actually 34" and some were 35" scale)
Solid alder with a unique double cutaway
JB pickups
Adjustable string spacing
Straplocks
Black hardware
Case Included

I just measured and this STD is a 34" scale, where as my Plus is a 35" scale! Go figure....

I didn't mean to insinuate you were pushing off a sub par peavey! I believe you! I've had a half dozen Millenniums, and that's the first STD I've seen for sale or in pictures. Seems odd they'd include a hardshell case on the lowest cost model, and a bag on others.

Oh well, either way, that's probably the best under $400 quality bass there ever is!

I know there are a couple of us who own this bass in the tobacco burst. FABULOUS bass! I'll put it ut against any of the Fenders I own. Great value...never saw it in red though.

Does this near mint USA made treasure really have to go to Evil Bay? I'd rather not, but it's sure looking that way!
