I received this bass about 2 months ago from Rocket Music (great, great place to deal with, btw) - custom ordered Blue Metal Flake G&L JB-2 with birdseye maple board and GOT neck. Weighs in just under 9lbs. Below is a link to the "new arrival" thread from Rocket Music, which contains pics. Since I originally ordered this bass in Feb., life changes (bigger family!!) have brought me to the point where I'm just not playing anymore . . . no time to 'cause family comes 1st. So, this bass has been played ONLY twice in my home since I got it. It's in pristine, like-new condition. I paid $1600 for it, but I'll let it go for $825 shipped, CONUS. Thanks for looking! New Arrival - G&L JB-2 (Blue Metal Flake)

I assume its ash given that's what I requested, and G&L uses ash for all of their premier finishes. So, I feel pretty positive that its ash, but I can't visually confirm it.
Thanks,
