Boner - P/J '92 MIA Fender Precision Plus DeLuxe

Sign in to disble this ad
You don't see these very often, and I've enjoyed playing this and having it in my Collection of Boner Basses, but I have found one of my "Must Have" basses, and I need to raise $$$ Quickly.

I have a '92 MIA (Stamped Custom Shop on both neck & neck pocket, SN is hand written on the neck) Precision Plus Deluxe. These are kinda rare. Part of the "Boner Series". First Fender basses to have 22 frets. If you like the (MIJ) Precision & Jazz Specials, you will LOVE this MIA Active P/J Fender(Any Duff McKagan Fans out there?). These feature Schealler hardware, (including the Micro-Adjust High Mass Bridge, Fancy "F" Tuners, and StrapLocks) Lace Sensor P/J pickups, Kubuki 2 band active preamp, stacked controls. The body is kind of a Dinky-P size, and (Obviously!) has no Pick Guard. The neck is like a '51 reissue profile, and has the Smaller headstock. Nice Maple Boards too! Factory Hot Rod!

Here's some pics:

Note: MicroAdjust Screws NOT Included!

Ships Disassembled.

$475 OBO (Shameles Lowball offers welcomed!). Trades Welcomed! Feel free to run anything by me. 4-String Fretted are my preference. I'd value this a Bit Higher on a trade.

I wish I could afford this one as well as the J. I think this has collectible upside for Fender folks - certainly whoever winds up with it at this price won't lose money in the long run if it's well cared for. My .02 regarding a cool instrument and a good person to deal with.

FREE BUMP for a Vancouver Canucks / Vancouver 2010 Olympics Blue P-bass smokin' deal!

And, if for some unfathomable reason, hockey isn't your bag, how 'bout Colts blue? Giants blue? Dodgers blue?

or, paint a red and white stripe down the center and one side, and join a Buck Owens tribute band?

And not just for the color: It can be set for either passive, like the Knicks' defense, or active, like the Mets' front office.

Fair question. In the interest of full disclosure, I'm a fan of the Sixers and the Orioles, so clearly I'm simply trying to bump this bad boy so I don't succumb to the temptation to buy it.

There have been a lot of boners popping up on talkbass lately

Seriously, what is the story with the handwritten serial number? Did it wear off so someone traced it to memorialize the number?

I love these and am quite tempted to make an offer. I have the Jazz with Kubicki guts, slim profile, small headstock, etc. Quite a bass.

Would be curious about the SN. Meanwhile, free bump for a Fender done right.

I have seen other Precision Plus Deluxe's on CL & Ebay, and they have had the regular Printed serial number. So, I have not a clue...Replacement neck? Custom Build? I've kept my eyes opened for a replacement Rosewood neck, but no luck as of yet.
PM for you mad man.

All deals have fallen through. Back on the market until Monday. Then it's Back to the Boner Barn.

Would LOVE to trade for a Vintage or Road Worn P-Bass Body! A low-end Warwick? a Good 4 Ohm Cab? Nude Photos of Yule Brenor & Bea Arthour?
