Aw man... There is something seriously wrong with the economy if no one is snapping this up.

I think it's simply a matter of lack of familiarity. In Japan, this is a first rank boutique instrument.
Check the TB archives -- everyone who has one of these loves it.
And then to have a beautiful top like that, to boot. Killer.

Say, Burner, can I ask a few details:

What's the string spacing? (I like it a bit tight.)

Is it a known brand preamp, or of Bossa's design?

I guess those are splittable humbuckers? Is the switch for single/parallel/series?

Thanks!

I want to say 18mm. I will have to measure to make sure. The preamp is Bossa. Yes, the pickups can be split. It has a single coil Killer Jazz tone. A fat humbucker sound. And is a dream to play. The bass is in excellent condition.

How would you describe the sound of the low B?

Can I ask why you're willing to part with this?

thanks,

I am parting with this because I am not using it. And need to get some cash.

The B string is nice and clear sounding. Very focused and tight.

I know that you are on a bunch of recordings. Are there any with the Bossa or are most of them with your Smiths?

If you have any, you might want to share them with the patrons of this thread to give them an example of the Bossa.

Unfortunately I have not recorded with the Bossa to date. I use my Smith Basses 99.999% of the time because that is what I am known for. I have been playing Smith Basses since 1986. Not to say that I would not use the Bossa for a recording.

I would like to ship it within the USA. Shipping charges to Australia has to be very expensive.
