So after a lot of thought and personal debate I am selling my Brubaker Brute 5 string. The upgrades include Bartolini MM/J pickups and an Aguilar OBP-3 preamp. controls are Vol-Blend-Mid, stacked bass and treble, 3 way coil tap for the MM pickup and a 2 way mid freq switch. Its most definitely an early one, there is no serial number. I can trace it back to 2009 here on TB. A previous owner did the mods- i had Fred from the Repair Zone here in SD add a new lower-profile stack knob because it helped the bass fit better into a hardcase. He also gave the guts a clean bill of health. I'm pretty sure it's
well under 10 lbs.
slightly over 9lbs. maybe 9.5 tops with my bathroom scale. Very easy on the shoulder. It will ship in the same good condition gig bag i got with it. Double boxed of course.
It came to me with a little buckle rash, nothing through the finish. It's not torn up, just some finish markings where a buckle would obviously lie. Some dimples by the strap button by the bridge that were there when i got it, and a small little dimple in the neck by the 3rd fret (i honestly don't even notice it, just pointing it out). Everything is still the same as i got it except for the knob i had replaced and the work i had done to clean up the preamp. $600 shipped anywhere CONUS
west of the Mississippi, $625 to the east. Paypal is ok
I love this bass, but I'm a fender guy.. that's all there is to it. Here's a vid from 7/20/13 of the bass... you may need to turn the volume down. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCW5o...ature=youtu.be
EDIT: Now entertaining trade offers!
