Brubaker Fretless 5 Repost I am reposting this thread as I could no longer edit the OP. Fretless Brubaker 5 I am selling this bass for the second time. I sold it about a year and a half ago, then got it back not long ago in a trade even though I was not looking for a trade a the time. I just wanted to play this bass again, but now its time to free up some cash. This bass is a growl monster and the highs have the clarity of a piano. The epoxy fingerboard makes this pop. To me, it sounds like the Garry Willis bass, but can do the Jaco thing very well. The controls are mid, stacked bass treb, volume. The volume is a push pull mid scoop switch. (would be used as a slap witch if it were fretted) It’s in great shape with only minor imperfections. It has tiny surface scratches. The preamp cover on the back has bowed a little over time, so when it is tightened down it sticks up a little on one side. Some of the black paint on the bridge has come off. The case is a little banged up but works just fine. The epoxy on the fb has some scratching in it from round wounds but can barely be felt if you rub your finger over it. It does not effect playability one bit. 1998 s/n 9809 Tuxedo-Cerreuse finish on swamp ash body Maple neck Ebony board Epoxied 34 and 5/8” scale (I only play 34s and this did not feel any different to me) Lane Poor pickup in the “sweet spot” Seymour Duncan STC-3 pre Hard Shell Case 8.4 lbs It is also now wearing LaBella Deep Talk'n Tapes, the black on black looks great. $1100 shipped ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
