Carl Thompson 5 String Fretted for sale $5500

Ok...I said I'd never sell this bass but times have gotten really tough. This is one of Carl's more recent basses, the date/serial number is 2-5-09, it was actually completed a week or so before but when I went up to the shop to pick it up, he asked me if he could put his birthday as the serial number since he loved the bass so much and his 70th birthday was around the corner.

This bass has a mahogany core, a very interesting cocobolo top and back with accents of bicote and maccasar ebony. The neck is maple and bicote with a pau ferro board. Two kent armstrong pickups with ebony covers, hipshot tuning machines and a wooden bridge. The scale length is 36 inches and there are 26 frets, also its tough to get up past the 24th. If you need more pics or have any questions, please feel free to contact me. I'm asking $5500 but I'm open to reasonable offers.

Do you have a road case for this beauty? Would you take $4500? Beautiful bass. I own 2 CT's this would be a great addition to my collection. Please let me know what you think.

Thanks,
Troy

Wil,l I hate to say that it might have to be so...Some serious things were in the works when you got to play her on Thursday...I'd love to keep her but I just don't think I'm gonna be able to

Bump for Carl and Paul

This bass is truly a work of art indeed. The 36" scale is not as different or hard to adjust to as one would think. Extremely light, beautifully handmade and incredible tone. Paul's a super talented player and nice guy too!

PM replied...happy new year! My camera is not working but I still have the pics I took when I went up to the shop to pick the bass up so here is a shot of the back and a better shot of the full bass...notice how it is balancing perfectly on my lap.
