SOLD!!!!
Just dug this out of the closet and while I love it, I have too many 4's and too much GAS for something else at the moment, so here it is on the chopping block!
This is a rare 17th St. Custom Guitar by John Carruthers. For the story behind 17th St. Custom, click here:

This is handmade in the US with John's wonderful fretwork and build quality. It's pretty much his current CB4 model but with the 17th St. Headstock. Go to

It's in excellent condition with just some light surface scratches...spent most of it's life in a case. The board was a bit dry from storage, so the fret ends are just barely pushing out the clearcoat on the edge of the fretboard...not thorough the clear, just ever so slight whitish spots on the fret ends. I have closeup pics if you want them...just PM me. The bass only weights 7.2 lbs on my scale, so I'll round up to 7.5 to be on the safe side. This is the lightest bass I've ever owned, but the tone is amazing; acoustically brilliant and punchy. Balance is still great though due to the high mass bridge and ultralight tuners...no neck dive. The parts on this bass alone would cost over $1000. Add John Carruthers expert building skills and fretwork and it's substantially more. But I know custom builds don't fetch the dollars they should, so I'm asking $725 shipped for this bass. Trade offers accepted for some 5-strings, but I'm really looking for cash. Will ship in a padded gig bag. PayPal is cool and I eat the fees. Thanks!
