Beautiful quilted maple top, walnut and alder body, maple and walnut neck through 5 string bass. Has about every option Carvin custom shop offered in the early to mid 2000's, which is my guess on when it was made (serial# 91292).Here's a reference page for dating it.
http://www.carvinmuseum.com/whatmodelbass.html It is in very clean condition and I can't find a scratch or ding. The only sign of use might be found on a tuning key or two. It has a jazz neck pick up a humbucker pick up with a toggle switch that changes the HB from single to dual coil. It also has the piezo bridge pick up so you can dial in many different tones, and if that was not enough the volume knob is a push pull that makes the bass go from active to passive. Two 9 volt battery operated preamp means it's 18 volt I believe. The only flaw in this bass is not the bass, but the case. The plastic hardshell case has two of the metal feet missing so it does not balance on edge. It has a very good B string for a 34" scale bass. I simply like my Dingwall 5 string better but this one is actually much prettier quilted maple. New DR MM stainless strings or the new Carvin nickels or both. MUST SEE in person, and it is quite lightweight. 900.00 SF to Santa Cruz CA or 925.00 shipped Paypal OK
