Carvin SB5000 (JJ)

Sign in to disble this ad
FOR SALE ONLY.

This beautiful bass is less than 6 months old since purchased from the Carvin factory in San Diego. The original owner could not adjust to a 5 string and reluctantly decided to sell.

The body is Alder, neck/fretboard is maple. (Fretboard had some finger mojo which I was able to clean up pretty well but because it's a tung oil finish, not 100% completely. This can be taken a step further if you have the inclination and some naptha/steel wool.)

There are no scratches I have found anywhere. I will post some more pics of the back. It is pristine.

The pickups are single coil. Fretboard markers are abalone. (upgrade)

The finish is a green burst that is absolutely rich and elegant in person.
I do not have a scale, but this instrument feels substantial.

The back of the neck is satin and feels almost unfinished and fast.

This bass has seen almost no action. Frets show ZERO wear.

Playability is as low fast and clean as I have seen on a $4000 bass.

The pre-amp has a bypass with a passive/vintage tone roll-off that works in active or passive mode. Treble and bass are stacked. Two Volume controls. Schaller strap locks.

Fit and quality of finish is absolutely on par with the last two Sadowsky's I have owned. Carvin has a real value monster in the SB5000.

This bass has $200 in options from Carvin and is one of the most elegant and beautiful SB5000 I have ever seen.

Extra value being included in the price:

Wide very comfortable strap with Schaller strap locks.

TWO extra pickguards, white, black. (Pearloid currently installed)

Brand new Carvin stainless steel strings with 3 hours playing time.

Neck pickup cover.

$900 (shipped within 24 hours after receiving payment) to your door.

Ships with factory gig bag.

PayPal accepted.

Beautiful finish color! Just curious, why does it have two separate battery compartments?

Is it because this bass has green in the finish that perhaps it conveys some sort of subliminal message?

I don't have a scale, I'm guessing it's in the 9-9.7 range. It's a big bass but it balances and hangs so darn well you are not even aware of it. I've had a few boutique basses that did not hang near as well as this does, probably having to do with the upper horn strap lock location.
