Carvin SB5000 - Koa

Sign in to disble this ad
This is undoubtedly the bass bass I've ever owned! The SB5000 model is worthy of all the raves it gets here on TB. This one is less than a year old (I'm the 2nd owner) and in great condition.

I've used in on a number of gigs, and in the studio, and it was a champ every time. The action is ridiculously low. And as you will see from the pics, it's very exotic. It gets a lot of comments from people!

Why am I selling? Because I recently acquired a Carvin LB75-AP, and it's more "me" as far as the tone. I had decided I would only keep one of the two.

Specs:
Koa SB5000
34" scale, 22 frets W/19mm string spacing
weighs in just under 10lbs
Maple Neck/Koa Body
Tung-Oiled Satin Neck & Body
5-Piece Maple Neck w/ 2 Koa Stripes
Tung Oil Finish Back Of Neck
Birdseye Maple Fingerboard (Tung-Oiled)
SB-Style Headstock
Koa Headstock Matches Body Color
Abalone Dot Inlays
Med-Jumbo Frets .048" H .103" W
14in Fretboard Radius
J99A Alnico Single Coil Pickups 18v Active/Passive
Cream Pickup covers
Chrome Hardware
Abalone Logo
Metal Knobs w/Abalone Inlays
No Pickguard (you can always add a pickguard)
Ivory Graph Tech TUSQ Nut
Black Carvin Tolex Wide Hardshell Bass Case (included)
Custom made Birdseye Maple truss rod cover
Made in the USA!

Sale price is $1035 firm to the lower 48 only.

Trades? Not likely, but throw me your ideas anyway, you never know.

These are very tempting. Very similar to a Sadowsky - passive tone, bass/treble, 34" scale, and much less $$$.
