J99 or H50 pickups?

Did the bass come from the factory with an oiled neck, or was that done after the fact?

Cool bass!!!

Ya know...I honestly can't answer either question. I just took it as a trade on one of my Stingrays a few weeks ago, so I don't really know much about it. I'm sorry Bro.

Okay, if you wouldn't mind, take a look at the Carvin logo on the pickup cover. If there is a little black dot in front of the logo, they are J99 single coil pups. If there is a blue dot, or no dot, they are one of the H50 stacked coil humbuckers.

Thanks!

Thanks!

No dots...just the Carvin logo. Guess that means they are H50's ??

In your opinion, which are the better pups Woody??

I have two LB70s, one with J99s, and one with H50s. I love them both. Naturally, the H50s have the advantage of being quiet when a single pickup is favored or soloed.

Thanks for the good input Woody. I agree with your assessment...these pups are almost dead silent, even with highs and mids cranked!
