Charvel 2B with Duncans - $400 shipped

Sign in to disble this ad
PRICE REDUCED TO $320

This is a really nice Charvel in good condition. I am pretty sure it is a 2B (someone here on Talkbass said so) but there are a few models that all look similar to me so I am not positive.

When I bought this a few years ago, it had a DiMarzio P pickup already installed, so I added a Duncan J and now it has a good hot sound.

This bass plays and sounds excellent, but it's capabilities overlap kind of heavily with a bass I have owned much longer, and I have too many basses and not enough hands to play them all so we have to say goodbye.

I'd like to get $320 shipped but I'm definitely open to offers.

I'm not really looking for any trades right now.

That's pretty weird... why have I always thought it was a Duncan pickup? I swear I'm not usually dumb about this stuff!

Sorry for any confusion. Either way this thing sounds similar to / as good as my Hamer that is definitely all Duncans.

it was probably me who said it, and ya that's a 1986 2b, only the knobs have been changed. ( as well as the pickups )

your welcome Scot Is that thing red and the pics washed the color out? I have a champagne mist colored one, but it looks way different than that thing.

Yeah in real life in looks red. That was the initial reason I bought it... because I have never really owned a bass that had that 80s hair metal / thrash metal look with the solid primary colored body and black hardware and the price was right.

I really like it, but my band activity level has dropped below my personal threshhold for owning 7 basses.

well I won't hype up too much the durability of one of the model series. I have had so many of them and not one has ever had a bad neck/frets, a TR adjustment more than a tweek, a pot or pickup issue.

just never had a bum unit out of probably 30 of those things in the years I owned them.

Certainly not rare, but for 300-400 bucks a long lasting unit that will be around for a long time to come. Hope you sell it here and if you don't I'm sure I'll see it on the bay sooner or later.

Bump for a great bass. I have a Model 1 and it is a smokin axe. I avoided all things hair metal and pointy headstock for decades but gave into the Charvel a few weeks back when trying to find a good out door (P Bass) and scored mine. Well worth every penny for the price.

Maybe the talkbass community just needed a week to get their metal affairs in order before taking on the heavy responsibility of owning this prize!

I wonder what response you would get if it was a crackle finish?

I'm a lefty so all my rightys are collectibles even though I can play them inverted strings, I don't use them on stage, only my lefty models like your red one ( I have 3 of them in different colors )

Agree on this. I owned 2 of these years ago. I actually kept one of the necks and had it on a ESP body till last year. Neck never developed any problems at all. Very solid 80's bass.

I was sitting around trying to play the bassline to Mr Bungle's "Dead Goon" on this bass over the weekend. It's a lifelong pursuit.

Maybe today is the day that you start your pre-Cowboys Pantera cover band?
