A Christmas Offering?

My old man bought this bass at a yard sale. I have no use for it what so ever as I'm not a P bass guy and I generally don't play 4 strings either. I was gonna sell it and give him back his cash but I've decided against that. A couple of years ago I remember there being several TB members who knew of a kid that could benefit from a bass. I was lucky enough to rake yards and save cash for mine living in a small town but I know some kids aren't that lucky. I was hit today with how fortunate I am as well and I wanna do something good this holiday season.

So with that being said, I'm gonna give my old man his $100 bucks back and offer this bass up. If you know of a kid that could benefit from this, please post here or pm me.

The bass is an older bass. Looks to be ash and maple. Has a single chrome pick up in the P position. Ashtray and pick up covers as well. Bass is strung with a new set of BLUE STEELS. The bass has wear on the body and the neck and could use a good set up. Electronics are supposed to work without problems but it does really need a good set up. So, if you know a kid that needs a bass and you're willing to pay for some set up work or can do some, let's talk. :)

The case is rough. Not sure if it's a fender case or a logo was was put on a cheaper case back in the day. Also comes with a black strap.

EDIT: The Plan

I've already recieved a couple of pm's regarding the bass. My goal is to find someone (probably a child 18 or less) that cannot afford a bass but has a desire to. I am going to ask that all submissions be made by December 3rd, which is through the weekend. That way it has time to ship and be set up before Christmas. I also ask that if your candidate gets the bass we get a shot of them with it? I don't know, just think that would be cool! :)

WOW! I had a HONDO when I was a teenager...yea it was a long time ago! My daughter would love to play along with me on this (she's 9)!

Great Idea. I just helped some friends pick out a bass for their son for Christmas. I hope you can find the right situation to really bless someone wanting to start out but w/o the means to get a bass.
Way to go!

It's a Christmas miracle that no one has posted "weight?" yet.

Schools are underfunded, a school with a bandroom might put it to good use.
