Cirrus 6 with Bubinga Top MUST SELL!!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys,

I've decided I must sell my Cirrus 6. I have 2 sixers and my TRB6P ain't goin' nowhere. Need to help finance a motorcycle!

So here it is. I'm only asking $850 OBO + shipping.
This is priced to sell guys. Has brand new D'Addarios on it and comes with a Fender HSC.

Pics at www.picturetrail.com/lorenzini

Oh I'll take only 1 trade for this: Skyline 44-02 or 55-02, but of course, run all offers by me. You never know!

I'd have to weigh it. My guess is 9 lbs. Lighter than my JO5.
Probably because of the slim profile of the body and neck, it's very comfy

I've heard good things about those basses. What kind of string spacing?

I was looking at that Modulus Q6, but even though it's a great price, I can't quite swing it.

Would yousay the Peavey has a "smooth jazz" kind of tone?

I used to own this exact bass and was able to get just about any tone out of it I wanted. Playability was great and the bubinga top really brings out the low mids. To be fair I did replace the pickups with EMG's but that was more personal preference.

Shouldn't last long at this price!

Yeah I would say that. It is capable of a lot of tones, but does the Ken Smith/high end bass thing really well, due to the nice woods and pickups/electronics.

Spacing is the following:

17mm at bridge

15mm at end of neck

13.5 at 12th fret

9 at nut

The neck is very fast. It has a really nice profile.

Yeah, low mids is a great description. What I love is that the woods bring out the low mids, while the electronics bring out the highs.

I have a Yamaha with Barts as well - my 5 string. I know it subjective, but could you describe the difference in tone.

I'm tempted by this bass. I played a 4 string once and thought it was very nice. I'm kind of looking for something to use for smooth jazz so I can have a little more range for soloing.

Yeah. It's very clear sounding. Sorta like a Smith. You can have a lot of high end sound (usable high end, not clankiness) or roll it off, still not comprimising tone.

It's a naturally warm bass, with punchy mids and lows. If you scoop the mids out just slightly(as most smooth jazz bass is), I think it would do perfectly. If you PM me your e-mail addy, I'll send you a Fred Hammond clip that has a Cirrus.

I guess you´re describing this sound clip.
It´s probably one of the best slap tones I´ve ever heard.
IIRC it´s a bubinga or walnut top Cirrus.

Just a helpful bump.

Sorry I can't do that! I'd lose almost $100 on an already smokin' deal!

It is not neck heavy, and probably doesn't weigh any more than 9-ish pounds... quite light for a 6'er.

I can say this with confidence, as this was my old bass. It balances well and was very comfortable to play sitting and standing.
