Classically beautiful Sunburst G&L JB-2 (USA)

Just bought a ’64 Precision so something’s got to go. In typical superb G&L quality, this is the best looking sunburst I’ve seen—and I don’t like sunbursts. It’s as close to new as you can get and looks like it’s only been played a few times. No dings or scratches. I am picky and take care of my stuff so it’s been well cared for. Since I’ve had it, I have not had to do anything to it (can’t confirm anything before that).

This bass has a sunburst finish on the back—some of these just had a black finish.
The bass is super light and is likely the most comfortable and lightest bass I’ve ever played.
Bass has nice Hipshot adjustable tension tuners (stock).
My understanding is that this one has been PLECKed from the factory.
I bought it in November 2008 and do not know the year it was made but am guessing it is a 2007/2008. The previous/original owner only had it 4 months.
One kind of cool thing about these is that there is an access plate and plenty of room to install any kind of preamp if one was so inclined.

It comes with a non-G&L TKL hard-shell case (thus the lower than normal price).

(Foot not included)

Price is $685.00 shipped. (Music 123 have these new for around $1,275.00, so this is getting close to the price of the Tribute series.)

Standard Shipping to the lower 48 only. No trades please.

I do know that G&L Necks from that period can sometimes be weird. Any twists, turns, or truss-rod issues? If you run your hands along the edges of the fretboard, how do the fret-edges feel?

And can you confirm this is the #8 Neck? (1.5" at the nut, 12" fretboard radius).

Thanks!!!!

Best,

Joe K.
Joe,

No fret sprouts--seems very smooth which is good for this time of year when our house gets dry due to Winter dryness. Neck is straight and no twists or turns as far as I can tell. It's always been set up the way I like it so I have no need to adjust it. I don't know if the original owner ever needed to do any adjusting. (I did just slightly turn the truss rod both ways to ensure it turns.) I don't have any documentation on the specs of the neck but from my other G&L with that neck I'd is it is an #8 (it is 1.5). I don't have a way to determine the radius.

Thanks for the interest, Joe.

Take care,
Donnie
