Clearing out Sale! A Bass a day!

Sign in to disble this ad
Every day I'll add a new bass for sale. I ship worldwide but only after the money has cleared. You're responsible for all customs fees etc. No trades unless its a hollowbody, G&L, or a single coil P-bass

First up is my Alan Knight P-bass. Its made by a British Luthier and made from Fender parts. The neck is jazz width. The pups if I remember correct are 62RI Fender. Its a great bass and one of the best relic jobs I've seen. This is my #2 bass and technically my backup to my main P-bass. However it just hasn't been seeing any play time lately as my main P-bass has been getting all the love. I also prefer C width necks on a P-bass. Bass has a bogus late 50s neck plate and a fake pencil stamp in the neck pocket as well as a fake Fender decal. These were on it when I got the bass. I guess to make it a more convincing copy. Its easily the best relic I've seen in person and it matches the wear on my main P-bass pretty well. This bass is really light weight and resonant. Very thumpy and grindy in its tone. Great for those country tunes.

This bass does need new pickup springs. I have a tendency to slap my bass hard in time with the songs so I look into it when I don't actually have anything to play. I noticed that the bass coil started sitting lower. Alan Knight reliced the pickup springs as well and they were shot. I redistributed the good springs on the treble coil and it works fine. Sometimes the pickup will fall inside the bass and you'll have to get a screwdriver to get it out. Its a pain in the ass. New springs are about 50 cents each. If I have any lying around (I know I do, but where is the question) I'll include them. Its simple, just unscrew the pickup, slide the spring over the screw and put them back on. I'm just lazy and unmotivated. I lowered the original price of the bass $30 to reflect this, so even if you're lazy like me, you can pay a tech to do it and give the bass a set up to your liking.

It is $720+shipping.

Next up is a Yamaha BB400. I got it as a back up beater P-bass but its too heavy for me (anything over 8.5 is too heavy for me) This is a MIJ bass and it sounds and plays great. The D string tuner is slightly stiff.

$150 + shipping

Link to original thread is here on the Yamaha (just got this) got to love the reverse P-bass pickup. It sounds killer. Strap locks aren't included as one of them broke. Its got Fender strap buttons on it now.

I'm confused: Is the Yamaha still available? The other thread makes it look as if its sold. How are the frets if it is still available?

Hey, that's my old Yamaha! I believe I'm the one that first put that one in talkbass circulation (pre-stickers).....does it still have Fender tuners on it?

It still has the Fender tuners. The Yamaha is available. The link is to the original thread where I purchased it.

Ibanez TR50. Its an awesome bass and one of my favorites due to the aggressive grinding tone and light weight. Its a starter pack bass originally I think.

Info about this bass:
I got this from my friend Eddie who was maybe the 7th owner of this bass. I was told it was upgraded and modified which explains the funky paint job and new electronics. The pickup and pots and pots have been replaced, but I'm not sure what brand they are. When Eddie got it (the first time) he had spray painted the body (don't ask me why) and then sold it to a friend of his who stripped it (which is why there is no Ibanez logo on the headstock although you can see the outline as to where it once was) and made it blue burst. Its an amateur job, but it looks good from a few feet away.

Its got a fair bit of player wear, including some dings on the top of the neck that don't affect playability as your hand doesn't typically go there.

When I got the bass it was strung BEAD and the strings were so dead you couldn't really tell what notes you were playing. I decided to swap out the strings with the only strings I had lying around which were light gauge rounds and now the bass is strung EADG so it rattles a bit as the nut is cut too large for the strings.

90$ shipped

For those who asked, the frets on the Yamaha are good.
