Clement four string fretless with G&G tweed case -
$750 including shipping in the lower 48.
$725 if you pick up here in Portland.
Highly figured unlined birdseye maple fingerboard, maple neck and ash body refinished in gloss black. Neck is a J-width, 34" scale, and has some meat to it. I've currently got it strung with flatwound Chromes that have plenty of life in them. I'd describe the action as medium-low to low. Body has some typical signs of minor wear, overall is in very clean condition. I haven't weighed it, but it feels pretty dang light, probably in the 7 to 7.5 pound range.
This bass may be seen in it's original finish in the Clement bass gallery. It's number 61, and was made in 2007. Seymour Duncan Basslines single-coil pickups. After it was built, the original owner had an Aguilar OBP-2 two-band preamp installed and had the body refinished in gloss black. Sorry, I don't know who did the refinishing but it was a nice job.
AFAIK, the neck is the original finish, very smooth, no bumps or dents. The control cavity is lined in copper and the electronics are neatly wired. Controls are volume/volume and a dual concentric pot for treble/bass boost/cut. Each volume control has an early plastic knob called Dakaware I got here on TB, very sharp. If buyer prefers, I can substitute two maple knobs for the volume knobs; I prefer the stealthy look of the Dakaware knobs better.
I'm selling it because I'm just not cut out for an unlined fretless. My playing is marginally more accurate with my lined Allen mouse!
This is a
cash sale only, no trades. I'm not desperate to sell, so please no low-ball offers. And for the time being, I want to reserve this as a sale to the U.S. only. If a buyer wants it shipped to Alaska or Hawaii, I would consider that at an additional cost.
