Clement Kim 6 string

Sign in to disble this ad
This one sadly must go. Built by Tom Clement, this bass is 34" scale with 17mm string spacing. The body is swamp ash wings with a large mahogany center block, topped off with Black Limba for the top. The neck is maple with a 16" radius bloodwood fingerboard. There are 24 frets with perfect clearance to the top, Bartolini CB pickups with a Bart NTMB preamp. I will also include a custom set of Nordstrand Fat Stacks, made for this specific bass.

The bass plays great, sounds great, and is a relatively light and well balanced 9.5 lbs.

You can get a rough idea of the tone here:Clement 6

Wavey, don't cry.... it's not personal. I bought a Smith 6, and I only need one 6 string. Life is change.

I am behind the times. I thought the Zon was still the king of the six shooters.

I'll have to check the axe roster on the EF website more often.

Especially now that there's a new sheriff in town.

Lol
The club issues no refunds you're a lifetime member if you once owned one. And listening to Ed's videos of Clements I know he deserves to keep his! :-)

Awesome sounding bass, and if I wasn't having Tom build me a six at the moment, i would have definitely picked this one up!

Good luck with your sale, Ed, and looking forward the whispers in the future :-)

aww, i was just watching the review of the fretless 5 and thought, "i'll check the classifieds for any Clements" and found this thread. for some reason it struck me as sad, but as you say, life is change. plus, my wife is pregnant so i'm overly emotional.

g/l with the sale & congrats on the Smith.

I'm not familiar with the Bart pre. What does each of the knobs do?

Nice playing in the vid. I know the bass is going through a chorus, but, still, sweet sound up high.

How do you find the low B in terms of balance w/the other strings and focus of sound (particularly higher up on the neck)?

And (I know I'm gonna get burned for this), have you tried slapping it? If so, how'd you like it?

Thanks!

Mark

EDIT: Just noticed this is a slightly older thread. Apologies if the bass is already sold. Still, curious as to your (or the current owner's) impressions re. the above.

The bass is now listed on the Bass Emporium site. If this is somehow illegal to mention, then do what you must.

The controls are: v/p/m/concentric b/t. The mid knob is push/pull for mid shift of 250/400. Volume knob is push/pull for passive mode.

Yes, I've slapped it, and it does fine, but it's a little narrow for me to be comfy on for that. All inquiries go through BE.
