Closet find: '98 Fender USA Precision (P/J) Bass Special

Sign in to disble this ad
Just snagged this one from a lady who found it in under her bed more than 12 years after her divorced husband left her. It appears almost in unplayed condition. It has the absolute best Fender Jazz (1.5") super thin neck I've EVER played...feels just like a rosewood Geddy!! I will have NO OBJECTION to keeping the neck and selling the body..although it would seem a shame to part this one out. A neck like this is very hard to find.

Its a 1998 USA model, passive P/J, and comes with the original Fender hard case which is in almost mint shape too. Even has tags and literature in the case yet. Has the orig gold anodyzed pickguard, and seems to have no mods. I haven't weighed it yet...but its VERY lightweight!

The tone pot is a little scratchy, so before selling it...I will send it to my tech for a cleaning and full setup.

Price with the hard case $1250. I'm honestly not looking for lesser offers on this one. But as always, trades are fine!

Where do people find these type of things? I'm always hoping to find that envelope full of money or Sir Paul violin bass in a closet...Very nice! Were I richer man, I would buy.

Nope...I have a $500 deposit on it for a cash deal of $1250.

The reference to "1200 watts" is a shameless attempt to get 'ole brother rapisme to take my GBE1200 head off my hands .
