Conklin GTBD 7 String Bass for sale

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello there, first classified posted on TB, please bear with me if I do not get all the information on the first post.

I have a immaculate Conklin GTBD 7 String bass for sale. I took the chance and after much effort I believe 7 strings is not for me, I am constantly going back to my 4 or 6 string basses. It is tuned BEADGCF. The instrument does not have any visible signs of use, other than minimal scuffing in the back (in the acrylic covers over the electronics and battery department). I had it tuned up by a professional local luthier (MF Guitars in Montreal), and it has a new set of strings, a recently installed set of new strap locks (gold as the rest of the hardware) and it will come with its gig bag and 4 or 5 ".26" strings I use for the F.

The action is set hyper low, and it is very comfortable to play. The sound is very clear, and it has (if you are reading this you probably know this bass already) a uniquely large spectrum of possibilities, as you can produce very low end slapping sound with amazing density, while switching to an opaque/mids/precision sound to do some soloing. The bass is neck through and resonates very well. The only modification (done by the luthier mentioned above) is that the pickups were covered by a thin (too thin, you can still see it through) coat of black paint as I did not like Bill's signature on my pickups. It just looks classier and does not affect the sound in any way.

These guys are available for 1800$-$1900 in ebay, I am asking 1100$ plus shipping anywhere in the world. I will pack it inside a tornado-proof box and calculate the charges and options once a buyer shows interest.

I am not interested in trades, I will need the $ to invest on some upgrades I am planning to do on my other instruments.

Here are some photos links

Bump. I own one of these and I love it. Low action = Super easy to play!

Thank you for the bump, specially coming from a fellow Canadian . Your bass line up looks similar to what I am aiming at... I also own an Ibanez (Prestige fretless 6 string) and probably I am moving to a Warwick pretty soon if the planets align correctly for me.

Regards,

Thanks! I find my Conklin and Warwick really compliment each other nicely. Warwick for a earthy, woody-tone. The Conklin for a brighter flavor.
