After one of "those" conversations with my wife this morning I am offering my Conklin Groove Tools Rocco Prestia bass for sale. Price is $575 shipped including a very very nice Conklin case. Paypal or certified funds only. Free shipping is only to the lower 48 states.
Below is a post I put over in the Bass Guitars forum which accurately describes the bass and its history with me. Note the end where it says "I totally don't need it" the truth hurts and this one is going to hurt.
I was lucky enough to buy back a bass that I have often regretted selling, this was my Conklin Groove Tools Rocco Prestia bass. I bought this bass several years ago now from BassNW from there used selection though I do not believe it was actually used but might have been a blemished item due to small ding on the neck. I sold it about year later and have often thought about it. In the early spring of this year it popped up on craigslist here in Sacramento and in fact I think it was posted here on TB in the Hot Deals section but the the guy did not want to ship it. Anyway "the guy" who was the same guy I sold it to ended up selling it locally and then that guy put it on consignment here in town. I was able to intercept it last week at that point. It is still in like new condition. So I guess Merry Christmas to me from me. Feels great to be united with an old instrument especially as distinctive as this one. I probably won't let it slip away again even though I totally don't need it!
Come to find out here on TB and then by doing some further inspection...
24 of these were made apparently in Korea. The build quality is very very good. These days I am very against buying Asian made instruments or anything for that matter but the stuff coming out of Korea could be the exception as I have also had Lakland Skyline which might be another I regret selling. I learned here on TB that the Bartolini pickups were what prevented it from going to market. I opened up the control cavity last night and it has a Bartolini preamp which is labeled NTBT-RP. The bass control is very interesting as it has huge gain variable around 150hz according to my iPhone RTA. It will overdrive my DI/Mixer input just by adding about 25%, very sensitive. This thing weighs in they low 8's i'd estimate and of my three basses it balances just about perfect.
Anyway without further fanfare here it is: |

That bass is one heck of a temptation! |

I'm really interested in the Rocco Signature - mostly because I'm a huge Rocco fan but also because it looks lovely
Would you be interested in a deal to ship it to the UK?
I have lots of experience in shipping from the USA (I have some limited, but very good, feedback here on TB but also a 100% positive score of about 400 on Ebay!).
I have an international PayPal account and a great international money transfer account
Barrie

It not worth arguing with the wife about it...it is only a bass. Looks like you have a few anyway. Disappointed that you refunded my Paypal payment. First time I've ever had that happen.
Keep me posted if you change your mind. I hope I get the right of first refusal since we had a deal and I had paid in full.
