Curbow Dinky Jazz - One of a Kind

For your approval...A handmade Greg Curbow custom Dinky Jazz. Originally a custom order that never was sent to the original customer, I acquired the bass through auction directly from Margaret Curbow herself. I picked it up in Blue Ridge in August of 2007. This instrument is the finest playing bass I've ever owned hands down - including every bass I've built. This is an unusual instrument - Dinky body but you won't notice, Rockwood neck with a traditional Fender style headstock and the characteristic signature. This neck is 1.625" at the Corian nut. The profile is very slim - like a nice pre-CBS C width Fender. The body is alder and the entire weight is 9.5 lbs.

I'm asking $1500 with an aftermarket hardshell case, shipped. The price is firm - driven by the economy and some present realities. If not takers from here, it will go to e-bay quickly.

This bass was one of the last built by Greg himself. This was confirmed by both
Doug Somervell and Margaret Curbow as they were both there when I picked up the instrument. I talked with both of them about the bass, it's origins, and how I finally came to buy it. Interestingly, because Doug hadn't worked on the bass, he couldn't tell me precisely who made the pickup. He simply knew the instrument as a custom build done for a buyer who went with another instrument from the shop.
