I'm thinning the herd, as I have gone back to college, and had to go part time at work. Finances require that I unload some of this ever growing pile of basses.
This was a custom assembly I did a few months back. I hate to get rid of it, and I may still keep it unless the offer is right.
Only finish blems are shown in pictures, and happened when fitting neck into body. The body came slightly tight in the neck pocket area so I had to sand a little bit of the pocket. The nitro just took a few little bumps along the way. Nothing more than cosmetic that you will barely see.
Custom Fiesta Red Jazz Bass body, custom finished in nitro cellulose by Matt at MJT Custom Guitar Finishes (mjtele on eBay).
Warmoth 1/4 sawn maple jazz neck. It's a little heftier than a standard jazz neck, but I love it and it really brings out tons of sustain. Brazilian rosewood fretboard (slightly darker than rosewood) with 21 vintage style frets (instead of 20), and a pro cut bone nut. Fender Jazz Bass water slide logo applied by the previous neck owner. It sits above the finish so you could remove it if you want to. It was a neck the original owner bought from Warmoth, but rarely used it. Finished with Birchwood Casey Gunstock Oil, with the headstock front finished in gloss.
Hipshot Vintage style reverse tuners.
Vintage style bridge with brass saddles
Fender Mexi pickups and pots
Aged white pickguard.
Strung with Elixirs (45-105)
Shown with Dimarzio Cliplock strap, but will ship with standard strap buttons.
Also, the bass is shown in pictures with a Gotoh 401 bridge. That has since been replaced with a more vintage style bridge with brass saddles. Great thump and sustain with this. I will add a reply with a pic of the bridge that will be on it.
Never gigged out. Just played at home slightly since the build.
Originally wanted $700, but am now looking at $600 shipped to your door in lower 48.
I'm going to list a few basses here, and would like to sell. I'm fairly firm here, as I think it is definitely worth it. But feel free to offer if you're interested. You may get lucky.
