Custom Fretless 4-string

Sign in to disble this ad

I have a custom fretless 4-string.
Made by Fred B. Steward. Fred was a builder out of Ma.
He built guitar and basses, for many, in the New England area.
David Dyson was one of his clients.
This bass is a one piece African Mahogany.
Ouater saw maple neck.
Aged Gabon Ebony fingerboard. (34" scale 19mm spacing)
Custom wound Fralin P-Pickup.
Wilkinson bridge, hipshot tuners.
Custom Tortoise pickguard. (Made by Fred.)
I payed $1600 for bass in 2006.
Have used it for recording only, bass is in great shape.
Play's great, TI-flats only used on this bass.
Looking for $950.00 OBO.
Email me for pictures. lightgypsys@gmail.com

You have a point.
I have pictures in my computer.
Don't know how to post them on TB.
If I send them to someone, maybe they will post here?
Bottom line, this bass is killer.

That's a beauty. Glad you posted pics. Just to round out the info on this, what is width at nut, how much does it weigh, and are there dot/markers on the side of the neck?

I hate to say this, but........ I told ya so. I really bothers me when I have to say this because I'm used to people being prepared for anything with out having to be told to do so. Have a nice day!

Nut width just under 1 3/4.
The neck was shaped after a 1959-P-neck.
It was a tad smaller than a oval C neck.
Very comfortable to play.
Side dots on fingerboard were fret-lines are.
Weight around 8 1/2 lbs. bass is light, and sings.

Only trade I would consider is a 2008-2011 Fender American Standard P5.

D'oh! I don't have one of those. Let me ponder possibilities. Good luck in the meantime.

Would also consider a Musicman Stringray 5 fretless?

Don't have one of those either. Trade bait would be an amp, preamp, and a pedal or two (all top-shelf stuff), and possibly a modified MIM p-bass.
