Had a bass fall into my lap from a small luthier that I just couldn't resist while I was waiting for this one to be finished. This is from a very short run made for badassbassplayers.com, (the coveted BABE series) and I will regret selling this monster of a bass. The only reason I am selling it that the Karl Hoyt which came at the same time has stolen my heart, and will be my main axe, possibly forever. Great googly-moogly the Llama does nice work, but I digress.
The L-2500k is the pinnacle of the Geo & Leo art form. It is flawless, plays like a dream, and offers more tonal choices than God could come up with given a week of Sundays. I've been playing for over 30 years, and after 2 months I feel like I'm only beginning to scratch the surface of what it can do. This bass would look at home on every gig from death metal to a wedding band. She is a stone cold knock-out, as you can tell even in my lame-ass pics. I can shoot with better light, and without my reflection in it if anyone desires. Blackburst, with maple neck, and matching gloss black headstock, and full L2K electronics package. Comes with beautiful square edged, vintage-style, black tolex case, not one of those crappy molded plastic ones, and all the candy.
New this bass would cost around $2200, this one still has tags and could be yours for $1700 shipped to the 48, actual shipping added elsewhere. Paypal preferred, but I am easy as long as you have solid TB feedback and funds clear.
Open to trades/partial trades for US p-basses (my beloved frankenmod p-ho was recently stolen, meaning I am a professional full-time bass player and I currently do not own a precision. This is very bad), a Genz-Benz Shuttle 9.0, or Shuttle Max, or lightweight 12 and 212 cabs.
You guys have no idea the abuse I'm going to take for selling this bass 2 months after a 2 year wait, but sometimes strange things happen. Getting a Karl Hoyt thrown at me was certainly not in the plans while this bass was literally a week from being shipped!

Karl built it for himself, and then decided he is not a 5 stringer. Well, I am!!!! The Llama is here to stay, but I will be very sad to see the badass bass of doom go out the door. These are both destination basses and I feel very, very, lucky.

IIRC, this means:
dual coil series, dual coil parallel (as standard) PLUS single coil.
Very sweet.
bump for a great guy, and a killin' bass.

This is a destination axe if there ever was such a thing. Sonically this bass can do it all, and the maple board just makes it sing. If I could magically make the neck sit deeper into the body, and zap myself a pile of cash, I'd keep it. You know I would.
And thanks for lying to the nice people for me Alan, I have them all fooled now...

What does this mean? You wish it were a neck-thru? You wish the neck/body joint were less chunky?

I'm used to barely being able to get a finger underneath there, and the G&Ls tend to have a lot of clearance. Also the spacing at the bridge is much wider than I'm used to creating an over-all sort of lost fingers feeling for my right hand. Certainly something I could adjust to given time, but this is what I'm saying about the Karl Hoyt feeling better to my playing style right out of the case.
The G&L does EVERYTHING, but the Hoyt already feels like I've been playing it for years.
