Custom hand-made set/neckthrough bass, 5 string walnut, singlecut benavente style

Sign in to disble this ad
Here for sale is my hand-made custom, made by me and lightly played, "benny" (with the greatest respect in the world) benavente style set/neckthrough bass:

SORRY - NO TRADES , this is a cash raising exercise, if i didnt need the money i wouldnt part with her.

Walnut singlecut body
set neck
8 PIECE maple/purpleheart set neck
active electronics (vol, push/pull active/passive, blend, bass+ -, mid + -, mid frequency sweep, treble + -)

Made in Northern Ireland U.K. this is the 6th bass/guitar i have made, completed 2009, and is a high quality instrument. Rigid and solid and made with the best of woods, lightly finished in a satin poly, It absolutely sings amped and unplugged, and even though i have basic artec electronics in it, it zings like the best of the boutique basses so Its crying out for some handwound humbuckers.
Everyone says it but in this case its true, it really pains me to sell this but needs must. now asking just $999!!! - open to offers or customisation ideas
here is a brief build thread with some info: New build, "Benny" style singlecut, the Malteser bass?!
Any questions please feel free to ask away

active electronics (vol active/passive push pull pot, blend, bass+ -, mid + -, mid frequency sweep, treble + -) Its the Artec SE3P PARAMETRIC 3 BAND EQUALIZER
WELCOME TO ARTECSOUND
pickups are G&B humbuckers, all in its about a $100 electronics situation, so if you spend a couple hundred dollars on custom stuff you will have a fantastic bass
ill put up some sound clips asap

A few of my regular questions:

- How's the low B string? (Their focus and tightness is rarely quite a match for the upper strings, are they?) Is it fair, pretty good, or a bit on the wooly side?

- What's she weigh?

- Does it play in tune right up to the highest frets? (properly intonated, of course)

Do I understand right from the other thread 17mm spacing at the bridge?

hello will.
In my opinion the b string is tight and focussed, and the intonation is perfect up the neck, much more so than my p-basses and jazz. the weight ill have to check, its not too heavy, but has a very solid feel. Ill get back to you on that. anything more you need to know please p-m me.
thanks
jamie
