Custom Lull/Sadowsky jazz bass.

I don't really want to sell my "Lulldowsky" but I've got some major bills to pay soon and a bunch of my basses have gotta go. This is essentially a Mike Lull jazz bass with a chambered alder Sadowsky NYC body. Sadowsky doesn't normally sell bodies alone, so this is your only chance to get a bass like this. I took the body to Mike Lull's shop and he made it into a bass for me. Condition is 9/10 - the only blemish is an inch-long hairline crack in the finish on the forearm contour that is practically invisible. I couldn't get it to show up in photos. This bass has Lull's "ultra vintage" jazz neck, which has a slim profile and a 7.25" radius. Brazilian rosewood fretboard! Like all of Mike's basses, this one has been PLEK'ed and it practically plays itself - super low action with no buzz. Aguilar pickups and OBP-1 preamp. Tonally this bass sounds like a more "vintage Fender" take on a Sadowsky. The best part: it weighs 7 pounds!

No trades unless you have a New York Bass Works bass.

$2500 shipped to the lower 48.

I wanted to try something new, and I'm glad I did - The Aguilar pickups sound nice.

Two questions, if you don't mind:

1. Does the preamp offer active/passive switcing?

2. Is a case included?

Thanks; I am VERY interested!

Happy 2011!!!

The tone pot is a push/pull pot for active/passive switching. I'll ship it in a hard case.

"More/better pictures soon."

Any chance that you have more pic's to post? I am still very interested in this bass (in fact, even moreso than before), but I'd sure like to see more photos of her. You may also send them directly to me via PM through my profile here.

THANKS!

Mmmmm, that thing is dangerous. If I played fours I'd want one just like that! Bump for a cool cat and a sweet bass.

Now I need to figure how to get the $2,500 together super-fast, as I have been trying to sell my Sandberg 5-string for a few months, and want to sell my Sadowsky NYC (I thought that both basses were sold about three times, but the buyers keep "flaking-out")

I'm going to REALLY try to get at least one of those basses sold (preferably the Sadowsky), and fast! Because .... did I make this clear .... I WANT YOUR BASS!!!!!

Ah-ha ... a "backside man", eh?

Cut it out now; can't you see that I want that bass? I'm serious about this, and I have been contacting EVERYONE who expressed an interest in either my Sandberg or my Sadowsky NYC since posting my earlier reply!

When I see it posted as "SOLD" I'll gladly back off. You better get your basses sold fast cause I got cash!

Just a little friendly jesting on my part; no need to get testy. If I don't get my basses sold, I also hope to have cash from other sources by this weekend.

I would be pleased in knowing that the cash I gave you went towards this bass. After all, GAS is a group effort.
