Custom-made 6er - Agile - Take a look...

Sign in to disble this ad
UPDATED: 9/26/09

Back on the block so I can finance another purchase

In my search for a neck-thru 34" scale 6 string bass with a maple board and 19mm string spacing, I found that such an animal does not exist in the affordable range.

So I had one made...affordably.

Rondo Music of SX and Brice fame made this for me to spec - but had the Agile side make it because of the custom scale. Black finish, black hardware, and gloss finish on body AND on the neck (also black - 5 piece neck thru design, though, just like the standard Brice Prestige Z line).

Since I've only used it a few times (new job - travel - NO time to play like before), I'll make it even more affordable.

$750 shipped to CONUS, since it will soon have Bartolini pickups in it.

If you go $850, I'll throw in an Audere 4 band pre amp with the black knobs that I bought for this. The sound is fantastic, and will be enhanced by the pickups and the preamp. The neck is a little thicker than I've become used to because it's a neckthru. But if you like that kind of thing, you won't be able to find anything like it out there (especially due to the maple board).

No offers or trades, please. See first line of this posting.. Will come shipped in a gig bag!

Oh, lordy! I hate it when people do this. "Let's make Arm jealous- post a bass he can't afford!".

Haha, just joking. Are you SURE you don't want to do any trades whatsoever? I might have some stuff, bass and non-bass, that might interest you.

PM me.

This will soon have Barts in it - they're coming from a bass I'm getting on Tuesday, and the current stock ones will go into that one.

I'll be selling them both.

I had no idea that you could get Agile/Brice to make customs for you! Amazing...

It's very sexy, and I'd definitely take this off your hands if...

(and here's the kicker)

...it were a 35" scale.

You know, that's the funny thing...

I've played 35's that feel like 34s, and 34's that feel like 35's.

It's mainly a 34 so that I can do a 5 fret stretch comfortably for the Celtic Rock stuff I do (whenever I get time to play). If you're looking to rid the floppy B syndrome, though, if you put SITs on it, they're made to not "B" floppy.

As for Rondo, they'll start taking custom orders in March (they only take them for 6 months or so until production gets backed up for their stock stuff). You can only order custom woods, lengths, finishes and hardware - no electronics, body designs, neck/fingerboard radiusing, etc.

Wow - a six page drop in a day!

Perhaps a change of plan...

I may not put Bart pickups in this...but maybe only a Bart 3 band pre-amp and sell the Audere separately. Stay tuned and check back.
