Custom Piezo Fretless 5! PRICE DROP!

Sign in to disble this ad
So in an effort to replace my magical Clement. I found this wonderful gem on ebay! However, I've quicky discovered that without fretlines and top dots I'm a little lost— and I haven't really had time to put the hours in the shed to get me gig ready on this wonderful instrument.

So here's the description:

5 string - chambered
flamed maple top wood
mahogany body

19mm spaced neck
35in scale
recently oiled ebony fretboard
maple neck with what appears to be mahogany stringers
slim "D" shape— very comfortable to play!

piezo discs under an ebony bridge not sure of the brand
Preamp buffer with adjustable gain not sure of the brand.

Extra long Labella nylon tapewounds

Some important things of note - the instrument received a nickel sized ding on the back side of the body during shipping. I've had that repaired and will post those pics.

Also, the string tensions need to be adjusted, the G and C string saddle slots need a little filing along with the under side of the bridge needing to be sanded to raise the pickups. The volume under the G and C strings is about 20% less than the E-D strings. Basically it needs someone with time experimenting with the heights to get the volume right.

Other than that the E string is a little too short— it's a labella long scale tapewound. I don't know of any of the shelf tapewounds that are longer. It doesn't effect the playability of the open E or the F at all.

So with these caveats I'll put up this intriguing instrument for $450 plus shipping.

Cheers!

here's the repaired ding. Smoothed out and looking more lie a knot than any kind of damage. The luthier did a nice job of fixing it up.

Any takers?

I remember seeing this one on Ebay and being curious. Are there no dots at all on the side of the fretboard?

no dots... I almost put them on in pencil, but I haven't. Really it just takes to shed on it. Time that I really don't have...
