PRICE DROP - Rbass Custom Four String Bass - $1,250 SHIPPED to ConUS with Tweed Case
I've struggled for about a year with this decision, but recent changes force me to part with this really amazing instrument. It sounds as good as it looks, with the soapbar Bartolinis and the Audere pre.
I bought this bass used several years ago so I'm not sure of the age. But I do know that I will be losing several hundred dollars on this deal. Still, I haven't pulled her out of her case in months and she needs to go to someone who will appreciate her and play her.
I never used this bass for a live gig but it never let me down in the studio. Truly versatile tonal possibilities with this instrument, from punchy slap funk - to warm vintage tones by by switching to the passive setting on the pre.
Here is a video of a song where I used the Rbass:

I'm not positive about the exact woods used but I was told the bass was built with a walnut body with a spalted horse chestnut top. It also features a 3-piece maple neck with 24 frets for a 33 inch scale. It has a Badass II bridge, a brass nut, a wood cavity cover, a mother-of-pearl headstock logo and Gotoh tuners. Truly just a gorgeous instrument. Anyone who knows about the builder (Ray Rogers) know that he turns out some high quality custom bass guitars.
Cosmetically, the bass is in great shape, no dings or scrapes. I would say a 9.5 out of 10. Will ship with a very nice tweed G&G hardshell case that fits this bass like a glove, a perfect companion. Please feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to answer them as completely as possible.
I am not interested in trades. Thanks for looking.
(I have some home video of the great Alex Al playing this bass in my home studio. I will post it as soon as I find it.)
