Yep, once again I have too many basses and must sell a couple. Up for grabs is my Tom Martison 6 string. It was originally a doublecut with an extended upper horn. I had Tom to remove the upper horn and make this a standard single cut. Tom is a fairly new builder but you can't beat his work for the price. This bass sings even though I am active preamp guy you can large assortment of various tones with the current vol/ tone, vol/ tone setup. PRICE $425 SHIPPED does not come with a case.
Here is Tom's original description of the bass
Here Is a single and a half 6 string bass. What I mean by that, is that yet it is a double cut a-way! but it has an exstended upper arm and a short cuta-way. This bass has two soapbar pickups that are completely covered in Box elder To match the body. So this brings me to the woods used. The top is made from Box Elder, tha Back Is Mahogany, the neck is Box Elder as well. But for the fret board I used Jabota ( Brazilian Cherry, A very hard and dense wood). Again the pickups are soapbar , the tuners are Gotoh style and it has a single bridge system. This Bass is a 34" scale with stainless steel frets. It has two volume and two tone. with a single on and off switch. I Hand craft all my basses and I use woods that are refurbished or old distressed woods on the body’s I like to leave any unique distresses, diseased parts and small cracks (The cracks do not affect the strength of the body’s) as for the necks I like to use maples, walnuts, mahogany’s and Jatoba (Brazilian Cherry) I use two-way double truss rods in all my basses. I started to build basses in 1999 as I was playing in a band in Michigan and I was working as a carpenter. So what I love in working with woods is that the fact to always leave the natural defects. So I put the two together and here I am a bass builder!
