Too many unique details for a written description, pics are worth a thousand words. PM me if seriously interested. May consider a trade for a HEADLESS 4 string, Status, Steinberger, David King, etc.... Ken

What are you asking for it? TB rules require a For Sale price. |

Which of the matrix basses on the Spalt website was this one modeled after?

The bass has EMG DC35 pickups and the BQC System http://www.emginc.com/products/index/141/146/4 so it can cover pretty much and type of sound your looking for. |

No one ever has come up to me on the street and said..."aren't you the guy that was playing the '87 P Bass last night". They DO remember this, as well as most of my other basses! When I got my first Steinberger "L" in '82 most folks thought that it was a nightmare too. |

The "shiny" parts are chrome plated, cast aluminum (resonant, lighter and more stable than wood)..... and are beautifully done. The weight on my digital "scientific bathroom scale" is 9#. It is NOT a cumbersome bass at all, it's a "5 set bass". I've owner MANY basses that at the end of 3 sets, I was SCREAMING for relief. "Can we say..... Alembic Series One & Two"? I thought you could.
Michael Spalt truly knows what he's doing and using modern technology and materials (Ned Steinberger is one of my heroes too) has addressed many issues common to contemporary (read: old) basses. I know this bass isn't for everyone but few of us actually still play harpsichords and gourds anymore, do we? |

If I did not have a studio (expenses)
I''d buy it
I'm Connecticut, I should drive just to hear it, (Ha, Ha)

I have no studio, or recording capabilities, but my door is always open to my low end friends. Ken | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
