Custom Tele 5 string

Sign in to disble this ad
This is a Victor Broden custom tele. Made by:Cal Custom guitars. It has the line 6 neck hum-bucker, the nordstrad pbass pickups in the middle and the fat bridge hum-bucker.

Its an all passive bass with single coil/ double coil switches for the hum-buckers and an on and off switch for all three. Also has a tone and volume control for each pickup.

You can make this bass sound deep and fat or make it sound like a rockin pbass. The most versatile bass I have ever owned!!! Not to mention the sick paint job!

For those of you who have been on talk bass for awhile, you have seen this bass before only this time there is no naked lady spray painted on the back. I had it painted over and done right. You can't even tell. And I'm throwing in the gator hardshell case and strap locks!

This bass starts at $799 shipped!!!

According to trades, something vintage, fender custom shop or sadowsky.

I honestly don't remember. I was trying to find the original thread earlier and I couldn't. I will try to find out tomorrow.

I used to own this bass it was made by Cal Custom guitars. I bought it from victor directly and I believe he said the neck was either a Warmoth or USCG. But don't quote me on that

Ah I see. There are so many lines in the design... It's so difficult to look at and take in. Haha.

I would say it weighs around 10lbs. It is fairly heavy due to all the electronics in it. But the leather strap I'm throwing in on the deal is nice and wide

Agreed. You only think madness until you plug it in. Then it will blow you away

I'll get that measured as soon as I get back. I can tell you that the strings are a little closer together than my MIA Fender Jazz 5 string bass. Sorry for the inconvience.

I didn't know a passive bass could have a separate tone control for each pickup. Do they really work independently on each pickup?

My RI 62 Jazz bass has individual tone/volume for each pickup, seems to work fine, even though there is probably some interaction.

Yes they really do work. Which makes this bass extremely versatile. I will say there is a slight hum when either of the humbuckers are switched to single coil, but unnoticable while actually playing the bass.
