Customized Rick 4003 5-String Fretless

Sign in to disble this ad
FS / FT: One of a Kind! Rickenbacker 4003 Fretless 5-String Bass 1983 Edition. Highly Modified and Customized with a Zebrawood, Wenge, and Figured Maple laminate top $1900 USD shipping included CONUS only.

PRICE DROP: $1500 USD Will consider trade for 5 string fretted boutique bass.

5 Strings with Custom-cut brass nut, and Rickenbacker stock 5-string bridge insert

Three Custom-made Bartolini Pickups (including one in the bridge where the adjustable mute used to be) are all humbucking with the neck pickup wired with a series-to-parallel switch. Individual volume knobs for each pickup, with one master tone pot and copper shielding

Handmade Rosewood knobs with abalone marker.
Schaller Machine Heads
Recessed Strap-lok strap system
New Strings

This is my baby and has been with me since 1985. I hate to sell it, but I don't play it that often because I am into 7 string basses now.

The bass is in excellent condition and sounds great! The fingerboard and neck are very smooth and true and it plays like a dream and is very fast.

Here is a rough multi-track audio sample on my soundclould account:
