Time to thin out the herd a little. This is a nifty little short scale bass I bought new. It's a whole lot of fun to play, probably the punchiest short scale I've used. And it's quite attractive, as you can see:

There are a few minor nicks, nothing significant. When I bought it, the buzz in a few spots was bad, so I did some truss rod and bridge adjustment which raised the action and eliminated the problem. If you like your action really low, I'm not sure you can get there well with this bass.

I put $38 Labella Deep Talkin Bass flats on it. (great strings!!!!) My asking price for the bass is $125 plus $25 shipping.

These are nice for the money, I have one and I like it. The pickups sound real good for a bass in this price range. It balances very well too.

I'd like to get a good short scale solid body to complement my VIola bass... THis is one of the inexpensive basses I have been thinking of, along with the Hamer Slammer Special Bass. I like the action fairly high... I have not been able to find one of these to try out, though,and have not found the nut width anywhere (I like a fairly narrow neck). What is the nut width on this?

Both the Dean and the Hamer (which I also have) have a nut width of 1 1/2 inches, according to my measurements.

"Bump" just means to make a post to push a thread back to the top of the list.

Between the Dean and the Hamer, I can't give one a clear edge over the other. They are both quality instruments. I'd say the Hamer has the more aggressive, ringing tone, with the Dean being punchier. The Hamer has the more playable neck, I'd say.

I actually have two Hamer Slammers, one of which I defretted, and that one is now an amazing bass, very unique in sound and feel.

I almost pulled the trigger even though I have an SR5 on the way -- I'm just really curious. Nice snag!
