*SOLD*
Kills me to do this but I have other non-music issues that are of priority...I will survive.
Up for grabs is my excellent / near-mint ABZ 5 upgraded with an ACG-02 preamp. The reason I see near-mint is that there is a minor blem on the A tuner button (visible in the headstock pic). Other than that, there are no issues whatsoever. The strings are at the end of their life so I'll include either a set of LaBella nickel-wrapped 45-128's or Dingwall Voodoo 45-130's...your choice. You're probably familar with the bass itself but not the preamp harness. It's a strange agent so here's a brief overview:
Stacked volume / blend
Bass filter - outer ring selects low freq, center knob provides peak boost. Almost acts like a parametric EQ but not quite.
Treble filter - outer ring selects high freq, center knob provides peak boost.
Switches (2) - allows for serial or parallel operation for each pickup.
Treble roll-off - great for adding that vintage vibe.
This is a gross over-simplification, you may want to reference the manual here: http://www.acguitars.co.uk/docs/eq02Manual2009.pdf
Now, the pics:
I'm asking $1540 shipped in the lower 48 and that includes the original gigbag, tools, and extra strings. Please e-mail me with an questions, comments, or offers. Sorry, no trades....as mentioned in my other FS threads, what I really need is a quick sale and a prayer if you have one to spare.
Thanks
Riis

And that preamp seems pretty intense - 2 switches and 7 (1 + 3 stacked) pots? Does it come with training? Is it set up for 9V or 18V?
Also, how much does this weigh?

The preamp, to the best of my knowledge, was an aftermarket upgrade and the install was spot-on...and probably about $300 as suggested. Sorry, no flight manual other than the one linked previously. I can provide a tutorial for the new owner. I believe it has a single 9 v tucked inside the control cavity. It is pretty intense but easy enough for anyone who has experience with filters or parametric EQ's.
According to the original build specs, the bass weighs 7 lbs, 13 oz. Dingwall touts this model as being the lightest of all offerings.

Is the signal run through the bass and treble "filter stacks" in parallel and then mixed, as apposed to in series? Quote:

Probably a little heavier with the battery, extra knob, and switches, but sounds like it's still very easy on the back... | Hmmm...I can't offer up any better info on the filter stacks' configuration. You may want to PM the manufacturer. They were quick to respond when I had questions.
+1 on the weight but it's not like they rigged it with a Briggs & Stratton 5 hp mower engine....which actually would have been pretty cool.

Riis | Let's see here, according to the ACG-02 docs : " if the filter is set to a low frequency on the neck pickup, and the overshoot peak is increased, you get a massive reggae style of sound as you're giving resonation to the more fundamental frequencies". Now you're talking about adding a choppy rhythm with grass flying everywhere... There aren't any lingering aromas imprinted on this thing are there? I have no problem with a hint of maple, but Dingwallus Bassus Cannadae and Dingwallus Bassus Cannabis are rather different animals...

If you NEED this bass, jump. Now. It's not going to last until morning. Might not even make it another hour.
