I have an absolutely amazing Dingwall Voodoo Prima 5. It's a pre-fire model from around 95. The bass is fantastic in every way in really exudes all the qualities that make Sheldon's basses so sought after. This particular model is a Prima which was the highest end of the line until the Prima Artists were introduced. If you haven't played one of these before, you'll be amazed at the uber-quality and craftsmanship - I know I was.

You have never heard a B string like this one. The balance of every string and the absolute authority of the low end makes this bass otherworldly.
  • Walnut body
  • Stunning quilted Maple top
  • 9 piece maple neck
  • Comes with Dingwall padded gig bag

Will trade for:

Sadowsky NYC 5's
Alleva Coppolo 5's
Ken Lawrence 5's
Ken Smith 19mm 5

PLEASE do not send any other trade inquiries.

Will sell for $3000.

Thanks!

I can attest to the fact that this is an excellent instrument from a great guy! I would grab this as a backup right now if my budget wasn't committed elsewhere.

Thanks guys. These Primas really are works of art. Every bone in my body says I'll regret selling this one... They don't come along that often.

What are the electronics Knob layout is significantly different from current Prima's so don't really have a reference to compare to.

I believe the new ones use the Glock pre-amp. This has a bartolini. The controls are vol, blend, concentric bass and treble.

I own the older sibling of this bass. It is almost identical except for fingerboard inlay and a mahogany core.

Having played it as my main bass for over a decade, I can attest to the wonderful tone of the Bartolini system. Neither too modern, nor too minimal - this pre lets the true voice of the bass come through. In fact, when the bass and treble are at zero the pre is completely off allowing you to hear the pickups as you would without a pre.

A great setup and a beautiful bass! I still cannot believe the pristine condition - fifteen years old with an oil finish, and it still looks brand new. I hope it finds a good home!

Thanks Jason. Yes, these are amazing basses. I spent a lot of time getting the set-up on this one perfect. The action is unbelievably low and the playability matches anything I've ever owned. It's a really special instrument.

Plus these Prima's are super rare... I'm amazed that this one hasn't been scooped up.
