Dr. Dimento's Routed Ibanez Basses
These are a pair of the basses I ran some of my experiments on. Red GSR 200 and Black GSR 300-DX (SOLD). For those unfamiliar, the point of the routing was to eliminate the restriction on pup use and placement allowing any pup to be mounted anywhere - altering tone by buying and moving pups not buying basses. Why speculate or theorize about a sound when you can experience and know first hand, have that knowledge to share, and test assumptions others throw about (which as as often as not are false - sound is a complex and counter-intuitive critter). In addition you've got a beater bass you can take anywhere, generate endless interest and conversation - not to mention a bass you can check out pup and placement before ordering a custom bass or re-routing an existing bass. I'm keeping one for myself and it'll be the only bass I own. Among countless others, Leo Fender, Les Paul, and Bassplayer Mag J pup shootout all did variations on this theme. I can go for a Q-tuner, to a Lanepoor MM, to a set of Alembic PJ's in five minutes per swap - cakewalk between sets.

Both basses very playable with frets in good shape.

Definitely prefer shipping east of the Mississippi

Email for inquiries on the Wave and GSR 190

I'm also selling a QSC 1450 (SOLD) and 15" speakers under amps: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showth...47#post8059147

and pups, strings, bridges under accessories: DIMENTO'S 4 STRING PUPS TO GO

Explain how you swap out the pickups, please. Do you have a plug-in system?
