E-Series MIJ Fender Precision: Black and Maple!

FS/FT Late 80’s Fender of Japan Precision Bass in what I’d call very good condition for a 23-year-old instrument.

Recently acquired, a fine specimen of an E series Fender MIJ P-bass.

I’m looking to fund another 5 stringer so the pruning of my 4-string herd continues… I had intended to keep this one and just put on a new set of Sadowsky Blue Nickel rounds on her, but I recently picked up a 2011 Fender Precision V in Candy Cola / Maple that I love…so this one could be considered a “catch and release bass”…

This beauty is totally stock, very light and resonate typical of the era.

Neck is in excellent condition, a couple minor nicks, nothing so notable while playing. Headstock and fret board is near perfect and the tuners are clean and smooth working. Frets are hardly worn indicating this instrument has not seen that much playing time. Body to neck joint is super tight.

Body is a high gloss black, no buckle rash in the back but there are some noticeable blemishes on the front. On the upper horn is the worst of them that almost appears to look like a cigarette burn of some kind. There is a couple other bumps and bruises that I have tried to capture in the attached and linked pictures.

There are pics taken with both no flash and slow sync flash to best illustrate. If there’s an angle you don’t see that you would like, just PM me. This beauty tips the scales at a svelte 8.05 lbs and is balanced perfectly.

Again, please check out the pictures in full size mode to get the best view of this fine instrument.

She’ll ship in a beat up hard shell case that has a busted latch and hinge but will offer good protection during shipping.
How’s about $500 + shipping insured FedEx continental U.S.

If a more substantial HSC is desired, I have a brand new Gator ATA (with keys) just like this: http://www.gatorcases.com/p/16204-1478/gpe-bass-tsa

Bass with Gator GPE Bass TSA Case would be $570 + shipping insured FedEx continental U.S.

Also if desired, I can throw in a Black MIJ pick guard for an extra $20, never mounted protective covering still intact. It is not shielded though.

Outright sale is preferred, but I’m open to a trade with cash from me for a late model Fender MIA Jazz V

I’m a trusted seller here and on eBay (Shirazbop 100% rating (128), 20 sales).
Cashiers check or Postal Money Order preferred: PayPal accepted
Not interested in shipping international so please don't ask.
Continental U.S. ship only

PM or Email me for any particular questions or photos you might like to see.

Black and Maple E-Series bumpage...

Love mine - these basses are truly a rare breed. I think the only way I'd give it up is if you were to pry it from my dead hands...

My profile reveals that I will not be lacking with the departure of this one.... I have a'87 Fender MIJ original Olympic White/Rosewood board that has a slightly fuller neck that I'm keeping...

Agree there is something special about these instruments.

I had the chance to play this beauty this evening......She delivers in spades! Really surprised at how light she is. If you're on the fence, it's a fine ride y'all.

Talking Back on and to the top she goes!

...and She's back on the block again and entertaining offers...

Played her the other evening acoustically and really, really liked her un-amplified tone and resonance.

These 80's MIJ's got something special going on,... I consider myself blessed to have two of them currently.

Someone could get a very good one here with this one...
