Early 80's Schecter PJ bass

I've been holding onto this bass for years because it sounds and plays so nice but I just don't play 4 bangers any more and haven't for probably 10 years. I'm gonna offer it up for sale for $700 plus shipping.

Here's the 411...............

This is an 80's era Schecter PJ, alder body, maple neck with brazilian RW fingerboard and the cool Tele style headstock. Super hot pickups with the usual V/V/T setup and push/pull out of phase knob that most all Schecter's from this era had (all passive electronics). Weighs 9.2 lbs. on my bathroom scale. 1 5/8" at the nut. It has a 1/4" ding on the back of the body (not through to the wood) and a small chip in the paint by the tone control next to the pickguard. Otherwise this thing is super clean with barely any fretware. I've owned 5 different 80's Schecters through the years and they have all been killer. Comes with the original HSC which is very clean and the original warranty card (whatever that's worth). Serial # is A1498. These are notoriously hard to date but I believe it was made between 1982-84. I'm not desperate to sell it but I will entertain reasonable offers. Run your trade offers by me too (up or down). I'm pretty set on basses and amps but I'm always looking for a new bass or bass gear. Also, nice mic's and mic pre's. 5 or 6 string basses only please. Fretted or fretless. Thanx.

IMO, 80's Schecters were first boutique Fender style basses. The ones I played were awesome!

More pics..............

I just plugged it in through my studio speakers and it sounds and plays great. This is an amazing bass with great tone and low action.

Hey Cheez!

Yeah, these were the first boutique Fender style basses that I know of that really nailed it.

BTW, the Yamaha I got from you has worked out great. Thanx for the quick and painless trade deal.

The push/pull knob is a coil tap, btw — cuts out half the winds in the pickup.

Great bass!
