I am offering up for sale my MTD 535 bass. I am the original owner and special ordered this bass from Mike Tobias through PJ at Venemann's. This bass was built by Mike Tobias during the first year after he set up his new shop in Kingston NY. It was actually the second MTD sold by Venemann's so it is a very early model with serial number #218.
The bass has a korina body and wenge neck and fingerboard. The bass is finished with a gorgeous myrtle burl top on a thin wenge fillet. It has a natural finish. It comes with the usual Bartolini electronics and original MTD case. Soon after I bought this bass, I was send abroad and I haven't had time to play it since. The bass still has the original MTD strings on it and they still have quite a bit of life left in them.
The bass is in excellent condition. It would be completely mint except for three pick scratches on the lower part of the top. These are invisible unless you look closely and I have tried to capture them in the photos that follow. The neck is perfect and there are no other dings or damage.
I am looking for $2200 o.b.o. Shipping will be a flat $45 in the CONUS. I generally ship within 24 hours of receiving payment; the bass will be well packed and insured for the purchase price at my expense. I prefer Paypal and do not charge extra for the Paypal fees.
