It is very much so a special Guitar Center run. I have its 5 stringed sister. I bought mine from GC in 2010. Saw it and fell in love. I've not seen many others but I know there are a bunch out there somewhere!

I'd post a pic of mine but it seems Photobucket is being finicky.

They make the SLO pin 5-string also? Didn't know that.

But I have the same identical bass that's here. And it's awesome. Thin neck, versatile. And ebony is as stiff as maple so you get a nice snap.

So . . . . bump

No, my apologies. I wasn't clear on my comment. The one I own is a Stingray from top to bottom. Mine doesn't have the SLO neck on it (which for me is a good thing! )

Yes, a SLO special is just a 4 string, kinda by definition. The Sterling and Stingray 5strings have the same neck width. But I guess this finish and FB combo was also available in a 5. I have never seen one, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

I suppose a price reduction is in order, now at $1000 shipped CONUS. Local sale $950 for anyone in greater So Cal/LA area. This will be the one and only price drop before I keep it forever, I promise.

Bump for a great guy to do business with.
This looks like a beauty of a Stingray!
Not easy to find an ebony board Ray unless it is a Stealth or elusive LE model.
This is a great price for it! GLWTS
