Sounds like a modern jazz bass should....round, full, and sits in a mix perfectly. It can also get agressive via the bridge pickup and the noise free bartolini electronics. The action can be set ultra low if desired. It is in near mint condition with only minor wear on the black hardwear. It's extremely comfortable to play and balances perfectly for a light weight bass.

I think there are/were some made in Chicago by Dan, and there are also some made in Europe(?), but I don't know how to tell the difference. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

You are right. I just got confirmation from Robert Elrick himself by email that this is definitely U.S made. It was made in 1999. The Expat imports were not available until late 2008. It's in beautiful shape for a 12 year old bass.

I have this same bass with Birdseye maple neck and it is simply incredible. Lightweight, perfectly balanced, fantastic and comfortable neck and produces maybe the finest bass sounds of any bass I've ever played. I can't imagine selling mine. Whoever gets this one will be lucky.
