As new. Superb ABG with piezo transducer and onboard pre and tuner. 34", 19mm spacing (custom), steel rounds, same volume as other ABGs (needs amp to get over loud guitars but pleasing with a single mellow guitar or on your own unplugged)-sounds louder to the player (like the Tacomas) due to placement of soundhole. Immaculate condition with padded gigbag. Custom built in Ireland. Copper finish. Integrated thumbrest.

A bit lighter than my prev. Takemine ABG (which was a 4). Has a truss rod and can get low action if desired. Pics don't do it justice; she's drop-dead gorgeous and attracts more gawks than any of my other basses-not a true sparkle finish, but rather a muted sparkle effect in person. Maybe i'll get some more pics up later.

Thanks | I have owned Takemine, M. Kelly,
ABGs and have played Breedlove, Tacoma and Martin. This is far more comfortable and ergonomic than any ABG I've played, by far. The main reasons are that the body is medium-sized (rather than jumbo) and, even more importantly, the body edges are rounded, rather than sharp. It won't saw your plucking hand forearm off. Left hand reach is also easier than the others I tried. Like any true hollowbody ABG, it will feed back at higher volumes, depending on the room, your proximity to the amp, etc. When I played it out sometimes I used a Radial PZ-preamp (basically a Bassbone with a powerful, adjustable notch filter that allows you to find the evil resonant freq in a given room and selectively delete it-this box is specifically designed for amplified acoustic instruments and can be found easily online). However, I also played it out with good success, loudly amplified and without the pedal. I reiterate; in this respect it's like any other ABG. Action can get low if you like via the truss rod. The tone is very deep and clear. I have nickel rounds on it; I hate the finger noise I get with the usual bronze strings. Volume and projection are the same as other ABGs-enough to play with 1 quiet guitar without an amp. Anything louder needs flowing electrons to be present in the mix. Like the Tacoma I played, the soundhole position makes it sound louder to the player than those around him. I need a better headstock pic-the logo is gorgeous!

There are possible tradewinds a-blowin'. I'm waiting until Friday to see what other offers come in before making a decision. Cash, as always, is King, Czar, Shah, and Emperor all rolled into one .

Can I ask you a q about your Basslab: does it lack sustain compared to a non- hollow necked instrument?

Kim | Sustain is good below the 12th fret but shortens very noticeably higher than that.
