Epi Epiphone Rivoli Hollowbody Bass w/case like Gibson EB-2

1996 Epiphone Rivoli Bass with OHSC. These basses are great short scale hollowbody basses that are getting more difficult to find. This is a great playing one that has a few upgrades.

I removed the stock Gibson EB pickup and baritone switch and replaced it with a DiMarzio Model One pickup (though the p/u and original electronics will be included in case you wanted to reverse it to stock). The added clarity really opens this bass up and makes it more versatile than the stock model. I also left the baritone switch in and wired it to tap between humbucking and single coil modes. I also added an aftermarket Gibson EB-2 pickguard with a foil Epi "E" added. It's not original, but adds to the aesthetics. I also added a "Mod-Bar" from the kid that used to sell them here and on eBay to add mass and sustain.

As the photos show, the bass is a handsome three-tone sunburst with lots of birdseye in the maple top and back. See the close up pics for details. The original (previous) owner broke the headstock and had it professionally repaired. He chose to not refinish the neck, so as pictured, you can see the crack on both sides. The repair is professional though, and you can't feel the crack as you're playing.

The neck balance is good, especially for a light bass. I usually wear a strap and don't notice any dive.

I did fail to mention that I have all of the original electronics (pickup and baritone cap, resistor, etc.) included in the deal. So if one wanted to switch it back, they easily could do so.
