Epiphone Jack Casady Goldtop Hollowbody w/OHSC -- Now Shipping!

It looks like the local sale only thing is not going to work out, so I'll now offer this with shipping.

Nice Epi Jack Casady goldtop here, with OHSC.

I've gigged this one, so it's not dead mint, but it's pretty clean -- there are a few little marks and dings, but nothing that you'd notice unless you were really looking and nothing I can get to show up in a photo.

When I first got this bass, the input jack went bad. If you know these basses, then you know that they are real nice but that Epi went a little cheap on the jacks and wiring. I had the jack replaced, along with the pots and wiring, using top quality components. All the work was professionally done by the fine folks at SF Guitarworks. So in that sense, this bass is better than new.

The only thing to note about this bass is that the volume control doesn't have much taper to it. It's pretty much either on or off. Probably easy to fix, but it never bothered me.

You'll see in the pics below that the bass does not currently have its pickguard installed. I took it off just b/c I think it looks cooler that way, but the pickguard, the mounting bracket and the screws will be included with the bass. It's a 5 minute job to put the pickguard back on if you want to.

The bass is currently strung with LaBella flats (760FL, if I recall correctly), and was set up nicely not too long ago by SF Guitarworks.

I'm trying to trim down the herd a little, so I'm more interested in a sale than a trade, but I will consider trade offers as well. However, any trade would likely have to be for something small with a reasonable amount of cash on top.

Asking $550 plus shipping.

I'm willing to work with the buyer on shipping, I just don't want to do a "shipping included" price b/c whenever I do that, I end up getting a buyer who lives in some small town on top of a mountain and I get hit with a big UPS surcharge.

Thanks for looking. Here are some pics:

What are the ohm values of the replacement pots? I remember the JC using ultra low impedance pots, which are very hard to find with the exact same low impedance values.

I don't know the exact values, but when I got the work done, Geoff at SF Guitarworks did say that he had to find the right pots, so he was aware of the issue. They are pros and know what they are doing there. For anyone who is curious, this is where the work on this bass was done: http://sfguitarworks.com/.

The bass plays and sounds great. The only issue with the pots is the one noted above where there is relatively little taper to the volume. I'm not sure that this is even really an "issue" -- it's just how that pot is -- but I mentioned it in the interest of full disclosure.
