This is an '80's MIJ Epiphone Neck Through bass. It looks a lot like an old Newport, but it's got a Cheezy name like SM-230. I beieve it was made in the Matsumoku factory, which is why I bought this in the 1st place. But I'm scraping a lot of projects to focus on higher end basses. So!
$150 / OBO gets this bass delivered to you. It does play, albeit like a Truck, and it sounds pretty good. The Truss Rod turns in both directions, 34" scale, wieghs 8 Lbs, and plays like a truck! But it's missing the Neck pickup, has had most of the finish removed, and it looks like she's been dropped. WYSISYG!
I was going to stabilize the neck and have 2 EB-0 Mudbuckers put in her, rout a bridge into the body a bit and have her refinished in Fire Engine Red with Black Hardware. Realize your dream instead of mine!
Trades? Sadowsky, Brubaker, Low End, etc... No Rickenbackers!!!
