Ernie Ball MusicMan Stingray SLO Special! Jazz bass style neck! Lower Price!

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a gorgeous Stingray SLO Special for sale or possibly trade. It is in near mint condition and includes original case. What makes it special is that it has a more slender jazz bass style neck rather than the traditional chunkier neck for a Stingray. It weighs 9.4 lbs and comes with an additional abalone pickguard and black pickup cover.

$1100 $985shipped and paypaled CONUS

Here is an Ernie Ball guitar so that you can see the other pickguard/pup cover combination on the bass included. I'll try to get some pics of that combo later.

It's an Ernie ball thing
It's a compensated nut
It is supposed to help with intonation

Yes, I believe they introduced them around '05 or thereabouts. My '05 Sterling has one.

The Neck

I am the previous owner of this bass and I have to say that it has one of THE nicest jazz profile necks I have ever played, and I've played a lot. Some folks think this is just a Sterling neck with a different decal, but it is not. A Sterling has 22 frets, where this bass has 21 like a regular Sting Ray. I like the necks on both of my Sterlings, but they are not the same as the neck on this bass.
