ESP J5 $500 + approx actual shipping

edit - sale only no trades please - i have too much stuff...

i can't take my hands off my benavente, and this guy isn't getting the attention he deserves.

purple ash body with white pearloid pickguard. small route for heel truss adjustment by mike lull. rosewood board. EMG J pickups, 9v, standard controls.

relatively narrow 16.5mm string spacing.

bass seems almost new, despite being from perhaps the early/mid 90s. almost zero fretwear. a few slight imperfections that you will feel with your thumb on the back of the neck. small, hard-to-photograph dent sorta above/behind bridge pickup. B string tuner is slightly canted compared to other tuners (you may not notice, but i'm excessively anal). a little scratchiness in one of the pots.

hardshell case looks like it was poked with rod stock in one place, but totally solid. (see pics)

i don't have a scale, but i'd be comfortable calling it "medium weight." certainly not a lead sled like my hard ash '78 P bass.

comes strung with TI flats.

plenty of images here.

prefer money order/certified check. paypal is not my friend.

if interested, please email (not PM) me through the site. thanks.

passive or active? I'm assuming active with the EMGs... Is the neck straight, low action, no buzzing? Neck Dive?

i don't know if i'd say that at this point because it's got the TI flats on it, and they tend to feel a lot spongier than standard roundwounds. and, it's had flats on it for about 3 years, so i really can't answer this fully. i don't remember the B string sucking, but there's not much else i remember either. sorry i'm so lame! i almost feel like going out and buying some rounds for giggles...

yep, it is an active set of EMGs.

the frets are nearly perfect and there's no notable buzzing unless you simply play too hard. at the same time, it hasn't had a set-up for quite some time, so it probably could be even better.

i have noticed no neck dive. i will strap it on later and comment further if i notice any.
